Record-breaking flexibility

The Salvagnini S4+P4 system punches, shears and bends metal parts from standard blanks with no intermediate handling of the party machined workpieces. The starting sheets are fed automatically and the finished panels are collected at the line. The SP+P4 line, the prototype of which dates back to 1979, is landmark in the development of Salvagnini's solutions for integrated logistics and remains the most efficient flexible manufacturing system (FMS) on the market.

Designed to operate in a totally automatic and integrated manner from the very beginning, the Salvagnini S4+P4line eliminates the costs generated by the intermediate handling of materials and semi-finished products and is consequently able to optimize production lead-times and improve workshop logistics. It is helped in this by the flexibility and programming software, which makes unmanned "lights-out" production a reality.

Automatic set-up in masked time and real-time checking of the bend angles ensure excellent levels of productivity and make "batch one” production truly possible.

The innovative PACK MODUS software manages and balances all the machining phases, even when there is a considerable difference between the punch-shearing and forming cycle times, and thus allows the production line to run continuously and consistently.

Production modularity and flexibility

The S4+P4 systems can be used both as combined machining centers for punching, shearing and bending panels, in order to satisfy the latest requirements for kit production, and as separate systems which punch and shear blanks on one side and bend different panels on the other, thus guaranteeing the maximum flexibility of both operation and production. The S4+p4 lines can be configured in a variety of modular solutions, from the simplest to the most complex and highly automated, with devices for loading and unloading to and form automatic storage systems.

This makes the installation extremely flexible and allows it to be fully personalized according to the space available and the characteristics of the customer's production process. If requested, the line can be completed by integrating stations for welding, painting and so on.
